THE MARKET MAKERS EDGE.

Only thing I really learned is market makers use T/A.
No insight on how they really work. Disappointing.

NOT RECOMMENED 0 STARS

A Beginner's Guide to Day Trading Online by Toni Turner

Is a good book for anyone new to the market. It covers swing, scalp, and short trading. It also gives a good detailed overview of tips and techniques to make your trading experience a positive one.

RECOMMENDED 4 Stars

hmmmmmm

some of the books that MOOTLEY FOOL come out with during the late 90s and early 2000s are pretty good. logic wise.

many good example of the rise and fall of certain shares.

you know the market right now seem very familiar to that of the mid 90s.

so if we look back books that is around the late 90s we should see some similarities on some of these new stocks.

and for those who logically understand it . they should be able to apply it and anticipate another roaring late 90s........................

hmmmmmmmmm.......................think about it.

i am digging out all my old books now and reading them an i found it very refreshing. and applicable to the current market.

i think this is indeed a good time to invest in the stock market.

The Motley Fool Books

I like the Motley Fool books as well. They are well written and don't assume that all of readers are economists or technical analyst types.
My favorite Fool book is "The Motley Fools Rule Breakers Rule Makers." Lots of good info in that book.

Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns, by Thomas Bulkowski. Came across it at the bookstore and am thinking it will make for good reference material (70 bucks at amazon - 1000 pages, hardcover). All well known patterns are discussed (and then some) along with probabilities for success (in bull or bear markets). Granted each of the patterns are available somewhere online for free (if you feel like searching for it), but I like how this guy used his own data to determine likelihood for successful trades. Also, understandable and enjoyable to read - with example charts given for each pattern.

This book recieved decent reviews and has now been added to my wishlist lol. There is a 2nd edition of this book but the reviews didn't seem as good.

Im about to finish tonight: "Real Money" by Jim Cramer

as a beginner, I found this book to be a terrific read

It gives great insite on how the market reacts to different events.

The best info I got out of it was how to spot Tops and Bottoms from a company.

(not meant for penny stocks)

I give 5 Starz

I borrowed this book from the library, 100 Ways to Beat the Market by Gene Walden and it was a great book and a real easy read. It touches on all aspects of the market and has many great quotes that help keep your interest.

One thing about this book I found different it never mentioned paper trading for a beginner. It tells them to get a broker, pick a stock, buy the stock, and watch and learn. We all know that if we were just paper trading we would all be millionares but seeing how the market works with your own money is when you really start learning how the market works.

I liked this book's straight foward approach and I Recommend it for any beginners. Some of the more experienced might already know everything in this book but might still be a fun read for you.

I also have Tech Analysis for Dummies you can find everything in this book on the internet but for having the convinience of it all in one book I Reommend it as a good reference book.

Crazed, I personally can't paper trade - I mean I can, but I will not learn anything - i have to 'feel' it in order to 'sink in'.
My best lessons 'hurt' a lot, but for me, the lesson was well worth the money lost.
Doesn't work for everyone, but that's a great find, IMO
