newbie here

Hello to all!

I've been wanting to do this For-ex for years already. Been to many forums but can't find one that is really friendly to newbies.

I hope you guys here are different and that you all are helpful.

What I'm looking for? Which platform should I use, one that accepts e-gold or paypal? And has mini accounts. Less than 25 will be great for me to start.

I know I have to start a practice account but I just want to stick to one platform.

I really want to start doing this For-ex now.

Please help me. All your inputs are appreciated. I already read the stickies up there too.

Thank you very much.

This might help you when choosing a broker. At the bottom of the page is a link to a list of some top brokers. Id practice before you put any money in like you said.

There are many different platforms. Demo all the ones you can afford. With oanda you can open with $0. I personally dont like theirs to much. I enjoy Meta-trader.

Play small = win/lose small *
Play big = win/lose big

demo demo demo.

cheers and welcome to the forums ask away! and if titans get lippy just kick him

I agree with Stocker 100%! Demo demo demo... and even once you start live, still demo demo demo.
I personally LOVE Metatrader4, part of which is all the fun custom indicators you can put in there (I'm a geek, I guess ). My first broker was commission based (no spread, or 1-2 spread, depending on Level2), but in the end, the 'traditional' pip-based broker just ended up working better for me. I'm currently with Intrabank FX and like it very much.

Anyhow... WELCOME!

msred,
boho and stocker giving good advice. i personally prefer oanda for fairness reasons and that's my main broker. but on a couple points they really suck. point 1: they don't have custom audio alerts available so you either have to set it and forget it or watch til your eyeballs fall out, so traders get tired and make bad trades. or you can open a demo acct with somebody who DOES have audio alerts and run it while you're trading oanda. they could easily do this but they want traders to get tired and lose money. point 2: chart views aren't that great but they have a few interesting tools anyway.
if you decide to go with oanda, ALWAYS check the spread before you trade because it's adjustable. and anything you don't understand abt forex, just ask. even if nobody has correct answer we can at least offer some thoughts. welcome!!
