i was talking about when u play for real cuz u said theres no margin in the real one that time. well the way the demo works is just confusing lol. it increases my money so many folds. i was saying if it really was my own $300 and no margin or whatever its doing ide be making 70 cents or something hahaha. so i guess 70 cents is what ill be getting. like i said last time if i had $10K+ of my own money to play with and margin doesnt exist then i would definitely make money. i guess i should still try to figure out whats going on though before i play for real haha

true, panda--- but i think you would've made more like $70 than 70 cents. that's how mine usually work out anyway, when i take away the margin element. so tonight in abt 40 minutes i netted abt $842, on a $500 play with margin, and i think i would've made abt $84 in real life without the margin.

maybe you're calculating based on price differential? i calculate based on how much margin they gave me on the original open compared to my actual amt and then i use that fraction when i exit to calcualte what i would have made in real life.

okay, panda- we're both wrong LOL--- here's how it works at fxcm.com:
i just got off live chat with them and they explained it. the money we see ourselves making is real, in the full amounts. when you open an acct with them, their policy is to give you 200:1 "leverage". this is not the same as "margin", like we put up for stocks. we do not have to put this capital up ourselves- they do.

heheh- of course, the downside is that it also works in reverse- that $700 you made and that $800 i made? if the play had gone equally south, that's also how much we'd have LOST. so is important to set stop loss imo. and to watch closely.

yea i remember reading about that 200:1 or i think called it 0.05% margin also but that makes sense. the other day in our chat i was saying that my $300 would be equivalent to $60K in some way but i dont know if either of u read it lol and i guess it is true now since u just posted it hahaha. i was thinking about that yesterday how it would be much easier if it was just like that but i didnt read all of it cuz im lazy but now u cleared it up. whoo hoo!

I tried and Im hooked. I always thought 24/7 would be a good thing, but now Im not so sure.

LOL chinegunwill-- actually, you do get some rest, mkt closes for most of the weekend, tho i do get in there sunday evenings, not sure how early sunday you can get in tho.

i just learned something else. tonight when applying for my "real" acct, i noticed that, technically speaking, "scalping" is not permitted. so i got on their chat and asked them to define "scalping". they define it as a roundtrip "within seconds". so i asked would 10 minutes be okay, and they said "fine". i tried to save the chat but system problems, so might wanna ask them yourself to be clear. anyway, i just made another $600 or so in my paper acct., mainly due to greencat cd.
CORRECTION: in the last hour i made some more green, total for the 3-hour evening is now $2,677.22 . think i'll quit while i'm ahead lol

now, if ur a serious scalper, ie, "within seconds", they do have a special platform for this at http://www.propfx.com/ . it's just the link the gave me in chat- so i dunno any more abt it.
