Finally Some Good NEWS!

I just called Geicko and I am about to save a lot of money on my car insurance....

What a way to break the ice... <===NEW

Looking for Mentors... My question has always been, why do not millionaires help others obtain the wealth they have been blessed with.

It is pure greed. I would like to think that man is good at heart. I have heard of all the get rich quick schemes out there. When the opportunity is examined it boils down to send me money, read this book, we do not guarantee you the same results, we will give you a full money back guarantee, press one for refund, sorry it must be factory sealed, sold at a garage sale or ebay .

Why do these schemes not work for most? Well the sellers would say "you did not follow the book, you have to put in what you expect to get out."

I disagree. Why is Trump rich. He was born rich. Now he is just richer.

I’m a looking for a serious opportunity to learn from the top.

The kicker is it must be free!

I feel that if a person is sincere, he or she will not need money from me.

I believe in the pay it forward mentality.

Not necessarily greed

Hi there,

Okay so most rich folk are greedy but it is not the only reason why they don't tell you anything. I think it boils down to one thing and one thing only....TRUST.

They do not trust anyone. They believe that you will expose them, or do something to them that may hurt them in some way, sometimes not even money issues.

So when you are looking for someone to sit down with you and discuss how they made millions, realize that in the back of their mind they simply dont trust you. What's worse is if you know this, then what would make you trust them.....

I agree with you Hellcat65. I am new as well and I have found this forum to be my guidebook to 'help' me. I try to soak it all in and filter what is useful and what is heresay/garbage. I have these same questions. I know a lot of it comes from just experience and learning, but where do you start.

I would Level 1 Candidate that a large protion of it is trust mixed with some greed. You won't find very many people who are rich that will help the next guy out. To me it's sad, but that's the way it goes. Less helping the guy next to you and more helping yourself. That's what I like about this forum. Many on here don't 'sell' their experience they share it. They help out the next guy on what they know. It's like the military. In there your job is to function as a group. Not to be Rambo or John Wayne. You watch the other guys back and he watches yours. Everyone now-a-days is out for themselves and against everyone else. It should be us v/ the issue and not me v/ everyone else plus the issue.

Best online broker? Why Ameritrade? (sorry, shameless plug)

Actually, the best broker really depends on your investment experience and goals.

Quick Breakdown-
Full Service Brokers: These guys do everything for you. They consult with you on your investment needs/wants/desires. You say, I've got $1,000,000 please go forth and bring me a return based on my objectives, or I need you to birth my new baby cow and they are all over it.

Upsides: Good professional advice, money management services. Most of them are dealers as well as brokers (they sell you inventory from their own stores instead of just from market makers. this can ensure a fill when ordinarily you wouldn't get one)

Downsides: $$$$$$$ They are expensive. Plain and simple. Small time investors ($5,000-$200,000) don't get the perks and such that they could really use.

Examples- Merrill Lynch, Charles Schwab, and T.D. Waterhouse

Discount Brokers: These brokers mainly offer online services that allow the client to have complete control of their accounts. They pay relatively low prices per trade and use different routing systems to ensure the orders get routed to the market effectively.

Upsides: Total control of your account. You get to decide what stocks you want to buy, when to buy them, and how many to buy. No sales pressure, and dirt cheap commissions.

Downsides: You get to decide what to buy, when to buy, and how many to buy. Seriously, there is a lot of research that needs to be done in the stock market and these firms require that you do ALL of it yourself.

Examples: Ameritrade, E*trade, and Scottrade.

I'm partial to Ameritrade (obviously) but you should all look at your own objectives and financial situation and determine which one is better for you. You should research your brokerage company just as much as you do your penny stocks. Nothing is worse than finding your gold mine only to realize your company requires a 10 day hold on a check and you can't invest with the cash in your account.
