Money Talk with Patricia Lovett Reid
Energy, Gold and Materials
Ari Levy, vice president and director, TD Asset Management
Margot Naudie, managing director, TD Asset Management
At about 13 minutes into the programme she (Margot Naudie) talks about demend for diamonds increasing by about 15% (if I hear the number correctly)for the next 8 to 10 years, because no new diamond mines are coming on line during this period...
it sounds good from Tahera's perspective.

Thanks for that, GolfDude. Actually she said 50% over the next 8-10 years. On the other hand, she says that there will not be any new production of Diamonds to come online during that time frame. So, what about DeBeers` two projects that are about to come online? (Snap lake and the other one in Ontario) DeBeers will also begin to mine Aluvial diamonds off the coast of Africa soon. Searchgold is also ramping up for production in Africa. And what about Tahera? Ekati is going to bring a few more of it`s pipes into production soon too. I don`t think that she`s very well informed.
Yes demand is growing and valuations are increasing, but I wouldn`t place too much faith in what she said.
