[quote=GolfDude]Hello Chum,
I found on the other Tahera thread that you mentioned Questrade back in November, that you use them for trading. And because trades are somewhat cheaper than with other discount brokers, you were able to materialize some profits even based on modest gains of stock prices. I am wondering how you find them, since you must have some first hand experience with them. Reliable, responsive...? I imagine they would be, but if you could confirm it before I open an account with them. What bothers me about my present discount broker (don't wanna mention their name -- besides the $29 per trade) is that they show pretty old data. So much so that I duplicated my list of holdings on TSX, just to get some more up to date reading. Is there a serious delay or shall we call it "latency" with Questrade as well? Or do they give you pretty much instantanious info? Thanks in advance for replying to my question.
Sorry for the late response GD but I am having some computer issues at home and it is not allowing me easy acces to this site so I am at a terminal at work.
To quickly respond to your question re: Questrade.....I love them to be quite honest. I have had several self trading accounts elsewhere with other firms with hidden costs. This is honest to god straight up no catches 17.95 canadian per trade for unlimited volume. I recently purchasee 110 K at .455. That's 110,000 shares, to double my position, Grand total was under 25$. There is always a charge from TSX with any transaction but to my knowledge is so small that it does'nt hardly show at all. The trading platform (web trader) is very good and easy to use. Again with this small fee anyone can capitalize from marginal gaps or down. Could have made a killing with the latest dips but I'm not selling TAH now for fear of getting burnt somehow although it's tempting cash out on upper resistences levels. I 've held an account with these guys for over two years and have sincerely not had a hitch and no suprises. These guys make profits from volume of customers only.
Anyway as I suspected, a slight pull back this week in preparation for the establishment of new highs soon coming.
Regards
