Sogo

Hello everyone,

I'm a semi-newbie here, been following along with the thread for a little while, but this is my first post.

I'd started my own 'learn to trade' type of game before finding this thread, so this is cool to find other people doing the same thing. I started paper trading, like most people, but I found myself getting too risky since 'it didn't really matter anyway'. Same way that playing online poker for play money doesn't work, at least in my head.

I did some research and activated a SogoInvest account (sogoinvest.com). They have a 90 day promotion that all trades are $1 commission, then only $3 per trade after that, with no monthly subscription. Problem is, its pretty limited, only Limit and Market orders, no stop limit orders, options, etc. Which for me at this point was fine.. i just wanted cheap, and I'd micromanage the heck out of it.

Now they have SogoElite, which has all of the stop limit orders, etc, and they have an option of a flat comission structure of 0.004 cents per share, with a $1 minimum commission, with no monthly subscription.

So far, they've been really good on the customer service, always replying to my emails and being really helpful.. I'm just curious to see if anyone else has used them, or has any advice about 'discount' brokers vs others like Fidelity (which I have for my retirement account, but its $20 a trade).

Thanks for all of the advice, I hope to be able to start posting my results once my Elite account is activated.
